Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental hygiene assessments, including evaluating patient medical history, vital signs, and oral health status.
• Conduct professional cleanings using appropriate techniques to remove plaque, tartar, and stains, ensuring optimal oral hygiene.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) accurately while adhering to infection prevention protocols and radiation safety standards.
• Educate patients on proper dental care practices, including brushing, flossing, nutrition, and preventive measures tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable.
• Assist with chairside procedures such as applying sealants or fluoride treatments, supporting dentists during examinations and treatments.
• Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) by documenting patient assessments, treatment plans, and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain infection control standards by following aseptic techniques and sterilizing dental equipment to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental procedures.
• Proven experience in general dentistry with a strong background in dental care patient education and clinical procedures.
• Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, medical imaging techniques, and anatomy relevant to dental care.
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with children is a plus.
• Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control protocols, including HIPAA compliance management.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages while maintaining confidentiality and providing compassionate care.

Pay: $44.23 - $53.26 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Work Location: In person
