Dental Hygienist

We’re looking for a Temporary Dental Hygienist to join our team at Hammond Street Dental Care for a short-term position.

• Hours available: Tuesday–Thursday: 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, Friday: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
• Take and develop dental x-rays using advanced imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Conduct patient assessments by measuring vital signs and reviewing medical histories to inform treatment plans
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using OpenDental
• Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures, to ensure a safe environment for all

Requirements

• Valid dental hygiene license with current registration in the state of practice
• Proven experience in dental office settings, with familiarity in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred
• Proficiency in EHR/EHR systems like OpenDental, Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, equipment operation, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and team collaboration
• Knowledge of anatomy, medical records management, and healthcare infection prevention practices

Pay: From $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 35.0 per week
