Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols.
• Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with dental x-ray safety standards.
• Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix , ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care, fostering positive patient management experiences.
• Monitor vital signs and medical imaging when necessary to support comprehensive patient assessments.
• Perform dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures following strict aseptic techniques to maintain clinical hygiene standards.
• Support front desk operations as needed by assisting with dental receptionist duties, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow using patient management software when not assisting the doctor.

Requirements

• Valid certification or registration as a Dental Assistant with demonstrated proficiency in dental assisting practices.
• Experience working in a dental clinic environment, preferably with exposure to general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or oral surgery settings.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix; experience with patient management software is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of infection control protocols, including dental sterilization procedures and healthcare infection prevention and control expertise.
• Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to all radiation safety guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and coordinate with team members.

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
