Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for procedures
• Assist dentists chairside during various treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
• Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
• Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
• Conduct vital signs assessments and document medical documentation accurately in medical records
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly
• Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures

Experience

• Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry practices
• Proficiency with dental software systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is advantageous
• Knowledge of medical coding, medical terminology, and HIPAA regulations is essential for maintaining compliance and accurate documentation
• Familiarity with advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and intraoral cameras is a plus
• Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry along with infection control standards
• Experience with chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry and handling dental instruments efficiently
• Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards
