Expanded Functions Dental Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our growing dental team. The EFDA will work closely with dentists and other clinical staff to provide high-quality patient care, perform expanded clinical procedures as permitted by state regulations, and help ensure an efficient and positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Perform expanded functions duties in accordance with state regulations and licensure requirements.
• Place and carve restorative materials as authorized.
• Take dental radiographs and intraoral images.
• Perform coronal polishing, sealant placement, fluoride treatments, and other permitted preventive procedures.
• Fabricate and place temporary restorations and crowns.
• Take impressions, digital scans, and bite registrations.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, treatment plans, and post-operative care instructions.
• Prepare, sterilize, and maintain instruments and treatment rooms.
• Accurately document patient information and clinical notes in the electronic dental record.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and safety standards.
• Support a positive patient experience by providing excellent customer service and compassionate care.

Qualifications (Required)

• Current EFDA certification/license in accordance with state requirements.
• Current dental assistant certification.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Minimum of one year of dental assisting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with dental software and electronic health records.

Preferred

• Experience with CAD/CAM technology.
• Experience with digital radiography and intraoral scanners.
• Experience in general dentistry, restorative dentistry, or a specialty practice.
• Familiarity with Dentrix Ascend.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
