Dental Hygienist

Job Summary

As a Dental Hygienist, you’ll help patients maintain healthy smiles through preventive care, clear education, and attentive clinical support. You’ll assess oral health, provide hygiene services, document care, and collaborate with the dental team. Your impact: By identifying oral health concerns early and explaining practical care steps, you help patients make informed decisions and support better outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, take vital signs, and provide preventive dental care, including dental X-rays and other medical imaging as appropriate to the role.
• Educate patients, including children and families, on oral hygiene, pediatric dentistry, and general dentistry care.
• Support chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry; prepare and maintain dental equipment using infection control and aseptic technique.
• Maintain accurate medical records, review documentation, and manage electronic health records (EHR) in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Communicate with patients and the dental team using clear dental and medical terminology; follow HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) privacy requirements.

Requirements

• Dental office or dental clinic experience and knowledge of patient care, dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment, and patient assessment.
• Familiarity with pediatric care, dental assisting, chairside assisting, dental X-rays, and infection prevention and control in healthcare settings.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA compliance, infection control, and documentation procedures.
• Experience with EMR/EHR management, medical records, documentation review, and medical coding is preferred.
• Strong client communication skills; familiarity with Eaglesoft or Dentrix is preferred.

Pay: $48.20 - $54.05 per hour
