Job Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dental Assistant/Receptionist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-in/check-out processes using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
  • Verify insurance coverage, process medical billing and collections, including Medicare and health insurance claims
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records, review documentation for completeness, and ensure compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies
  • Assist dentists during procedures by preparing instruments and materials, maintaining clinical cleanliness, and supporting patient comfort
  • Manage phone communication with patients regarding appointments, billing inquiries, and general questions while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
  • Handle administrative duties such as filing medical records, data entry using Microsoft Office tools, and performing 10-key typing tasks efficiently
  • Support clinical documentation review for care plans, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) coding, ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding including ICD-9/ICD-10, to ensure accurate coding for billing purposes
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk area, manage appointment scheduling with medical office management software, and coordinate follow-up visits or referrals

Experience

  • Proven clinic experience in a dental or medical office setting with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks
  • Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare billing and health information management practices
  • Experience with medical coding (CPT codes), ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and medical billing procedures
  • Bilingual skills are highly preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to handle medical administrative support tasks such as filing, documentation review, and maintaining clinical confidentiality policies
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic health records management software
  • Exceptional customer service skills combined with effective phone communication and front desk management experience
  • Prior dental clinic experience is a plus; familiarity with clinical confidentiality policies and health insurance knowledge is highly valued
