Duties
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all tools and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control protocols. Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and safety measures are followed for all patients. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical documentation. Support patient care by taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, and assisting with medical coding to ensure precise billing and record-keeping. Implement aseptic techniques and maintain a sterile environment to prevent infection transmission during chairside assisting. Coordinate with the dental reception team to schedule appointments, confirm patient details, and facilitate smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices. Familiarity with dental assisting procedures such as chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and handling medical imaging equipment. Strong understanding of EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar platforms for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for working with children is a plus! Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while following all safety protocols for radiation exposure.
