Dental Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dental Assistant to join our dental team! In this role, you will support the dentist by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring smooth clinical operations, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. We practice all aspects of general dentistry including root canals, implants and extractions. The position is for three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management protocols.
• Take and develop dental X-rays using dental X-ray equipment and 3D scanners, adhering strictly to safety standards and clinical confidentiality policies.
• Manage patient records using Dentrix. Ensure accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, managing dental materials, and supporting four-handed dentistry techniques for efficient patient care.
• Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer questions related to dental procedures or treatment plans.
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by following infection control procedures, including sterilization of dental instruments and proper disposal of contaminated materials.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures.
• Familiarity with Dentrix
• Xray certification
• Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
• Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control expertise along with aseptic techniques required for safe clinical practice.

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
