Dental Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Duties

• Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
• Take and develop X-rays as required, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Manage patient records and ensure all medical records are accurate and up-to-date.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Utilize dental software such as Open Dental for scheduling appointments and managing patient information.
• Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
• Stay informed about dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and prosthodontics to provide comprehensive support to the dental team.

Requirements

• Must be X-ray certified in the state of Florida.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
• Familiarity with dental terminology and anatomy is essential.
• Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Open Dental is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of aseptic techniques in a clinical setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while providing excellent patient care.
• Previous experience in a dental assistant role is preferred but not required.

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
