Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use according to dental sterilization procedures and infection control protocols.
• Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency.
• Take high-quality dental x-rays and manage medical imaging processes while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; document medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes accurately.
• Provide patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology and treatment plans, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
• Perform dental instrument processing tasks including sterilization, disinfection, and proper handling of dental equipment to maintain aseptic techniques.
• Support administrative tasks such as greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments via patient management software, and managing medical documentation efficiently.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
• Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting and dental instrument processing.
• Familiarity with dental x-ray technology and ability to operate X-ray equipment safely while following infection prevention management policies.
• Experience using EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft for accurate medical records management.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to clinical confidentiality policies and medical documentation standards.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical procedures across specialties such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Ability to perform dental sterilization procedures effectively while maintaining infection control standards.
• Excellent communication skills to support patient care and collaborate with team members in a fast-paced setting.
