Clinical Assistant – Dental Sleep Medicine & TMJ/Orofacial Pain

About the Position

We are a specialty dental practice focused primarily on Dental Sleep Medicine and TMJ/Orofacial Pain, and we are looking for an experienced, dependable Clinical/Dental Assistant to join our team three days per week — Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

This is not a traditional high-volume general dentistry office.

Our clinical environment is calm, organized and highly patient-focused. The workflow is more similar to a specialty or orthodontic practice, with an emphasis on oral appliance therapy, digital scanning, patient education and follow-up care rather than restorative dentistry.

What You Will Do

• Assist with Dental Sleep Medicine and oral appliance therapy
• Assist with TMJ and Orofacial Pain evaluations and follow-up visits
• Perform digital intraoral scanning
• Assist with appliance delivery, adjustments and follow-up
• Educate patients regarding appliance use and care
• Communicate with patients throughout their treatment
• Prepare and maintain clinical treatment areas
• Work closely with the doctors and clinical team
• Maintain a highly organized and efficient clinical workflow

What We Are Looking For

• Current Massachusetts Dental Assistant or Dental Hygienist license
• Previous dental assisting experience
• Excellent communication and patient-interaction skills
• Organized, detail-oriented and dependable
• Comfortable working independently while being part of a close clinical team
• Professional, friendly and comfortable interacting with adult patients
• Interested in learning specialized dental treatment
• Someone who genuinely enjoys helping patients and seeing the results of their care

Experience We Especially Value

• iTero, TRIOS, Medit or similar intraoral scanners
• Specialty dental practice experience

Specialty experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person.

Schedule

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Three days per week.

Compensation

$28.00–$38.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
