Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring high standards of oral hygiene care.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in accordance with HIPAA and infection prevention guidelines.
• Educate patients on proper dental care practices, emphasizing preventive strategies tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable.
• Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency and patient comfort.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using OpenDental, documenting all procedures, assessments, and patient interactions thoroughly.
• Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic technique and sterilization of dental equipment, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Experience

• Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general dentistry setting, with familiarity in managing diverse patient populations.
• Hands-on knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate documentation and billing processes.
• Experience with OpenDetal is not necessary. Our office will offer training.
• Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices aligned with HIPAA compliance standards.
• Ability to perform dental x-rays accurately while maintaining patient safety protocols.
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental care routines.

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
