Dental Hygienist

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing quality oral healthcare to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings, provide preventive care, and educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices. Duties:
- Perform dental cleanings, including removing plaque and calculus from teeth
- Conduct thorough oral examinations to identify any signs of dental diseases or abnormalities
- Take and develop dental x-rays for diagnostic purposes
- Administer local anesthesia as needed
- Apply fluoride treatments and sealants to protect teeth
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing instruments and maintaining a sterile field
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories as necessary
- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment

Qualifications:
- Valid Dental Hygiene license in CA
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
- Proficiency in medical coding and knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- Strong understanding of dental anatomy, oral health conditions, and treatment options
- Experience working with electronic health record systems, such as Epic
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic technique
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients on oral health practices effectively
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and record patient information
- Previous experience in dental assisting or medical imaging is a plus
