Registered Dental Hygienist

Overview

We are looking for someone that can work Wednesdays 9am-3pm and Fridays 9am-1pm.

Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while adhering to infection prevention protocols.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies tailored to their needs.
• Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix while ensuring HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
• Support infection control practices by following aseptic techniques, sterilizing dental equipment, and managing healthcare infection prevention protocols.

Skills

• Proficiency in using EHR systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
• Experience with dental equipment operation, including X-ray machines, ultrasonic scalers, and other hygiene tools.
• Excellent patient communication skills to foster trust and ensure understanding of treatment plans and oral health education.
• Ability to perform patient care tasks such as vital signs measurement, patient assessment, and maintaining patient comfort throughout procedures.
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices when working with children or special needs patients.
• Healthcare infection prevention expertise to uphold the highest standards of safety and aseptic technique in all clinical activities.
