Dental Hygienist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment. Duties

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar.
• Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Assist the dentist during procedures such as examinations, restorations, and other general dentistry treatments.
• Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays, adhering to proper aseptic techniques.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Review medical records for relevant health information to support comprehensive patient care.
• Follow infection control protocols diligently to maintain a sterile environment in accordance with OSHA standards.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating patient information, and managing dental records.

Skills

• Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix.
• Experience in pediatric dentistry and pediatrics-related procedures is preferred.
• Skilled in four-handed dentistry techniques for efficient patient care delivery.
• Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, medical imaging techniques, and anatomy relevant to dentistry.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, documentation review, and medical coding practices.
• Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team as a chairside assistant supporting general dentistry procedures.
