Duties

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain and improve patients’ oral health.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to develop personalized care plans.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster lifelong healthy habits.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental x-ray equipment while ensuring radiation safety protocols are followed.
• Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside assisting, including preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment through infection prevention management.
• Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix) accurately, documenting treatment details and reviewing medical records for comprehensive patient care.
• Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality and ensuring secure handling of medical records and personal information.

Skills

• Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry practices.
• Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with pediatric patients to ensure comfort and cooperation.
• Expertise in infection prevention techniques including aseptic technique, healthcare infection control standards, and sterilization procedures.
• Skilled in taking accurate vital signs and performing medical imaging to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, providing clear explanations about dental procedures and care instructions.
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance management, medical coding, documentation review, and electronic health records (EHR) management.

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
