Monday - Wednesday 8-5; Friday 8-3

Pay DOE + possible bonus structure

Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
• Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and dental examinations
• Assist with dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and patient comfort
• Take and develop dental x-rays (X-ray) ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed
• Educate patients on proper dental care practices, oral hygiene routines, and preventive strategies
• Manage electronic health records (EHR/EMR), documenting treatment details accurately while maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Operate dental equipment safely, including sterilization of instruments, infection prevention management, and aseptic techniques
• Collaborate with dentists during procedures such as medical imaging, patient care planning, and documentation review
• Ensure adherence to healthcare infection prevention standards and maintain a clean, sterile clinical environment

Requirements

• Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current state certification
• Proven experience working in dental office settings, preferably with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry practices
• Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records and scheduling
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices
• Skilled in chairside assisting techniques, including patient care, medical imaging, and documentation review
• Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and healthcare safety standards (HIPAA compliance management)
• Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on dental care and foster positive client relationships
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
