Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to promote optimal oral health.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental x-rays using advanced EMR/EHR systems such as EzDent-I and Dentrix.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term dental health.
• Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to strict infection prevention protocols and aseptic techniques.
• Maintain accurate medical records, document treatment plans, and review documentation for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Manage infection control procedures, sterilize dental equipment, and uphold the highest standards of healthcare infection prevention and control expertise.

Qualifications

• Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
• Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
• Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental care patient education strategies.
• Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement, patient assessment, and chairside assisting with professionalism.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards and healthcare privacy laws.

Pay: $48.00 - $55.00 per hour
