Duties

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
• Take dental radiographs using digital sensor technique to assist in diagnoses.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options.
• Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside assisting, ensuring infection control and aseptic techniques are maintained at all times.
• Document all patient interactions accurately within Dentrix.
• Review medical and dental documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Monitor vital signs and assess patients’ overall health status before treatment.
• Support pediatric dentistry cases by providing specialized care tailored to children’s needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control protocols and OSHA standards.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic setting.
• Proficiency with Dentrix is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control procedures.
• Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus, demonstrating comfort working with children of all ages.
• Familiarity with dental assisting techniques, four-handed dentistry practices, and chairside support during various procedures.
• Ability to review documentation accurately and perform dental coding when necessary for billing purposes.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security is essential.
• Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.

Pay: $43.50 - $51.50 per hour
