Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, to maintain optimal oral health for patients of all ages.
• Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
• Educate patients on proper dental care techniques, preventive practices, and treatment plans to empower them with knowledge for healthier smiles.
• Manage infection prevention protocols by maintaining aseptic techniques, sterilizing dental equipment, and adhering to healthcare infection prevention standards.
• Review and update medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
• Operate dental equipment proficiently, including digital radiography systems like dental X-ray machines, while ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Requirements

• Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current state certification.
• Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
• Proficiency in using Dentrix Ascend for documentation review and management of medical records.
• Expertise in infection control practices, including aseptic technique and healthcare infection prevention measures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds, providing clear client communication and patient education.

Pay: $43.37 - $52.23 per hour
