Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of clinical procedures, patient care, and dental office operations. As a Registered Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient interactions, and ensuring the highest standards of infection control and safety. Duties

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are readily available for patient appointments.
• Take radiographs.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, maintaining accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Perform dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures following infection prevention management policies to uphold clinical safety standards.
• Monitor vital signs and medical history of patients to assist in comprehensive treatment planning and ensure patient safety.
• Provide patient management support by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring a positive experience throughout their visit.
• Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and records with integrity.
• Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed, utilizing patient management software effectively.
• Ensure the proper functioning of dental equipment including dental x-ray machines, and other diagnostic tools.
• Uphold infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper dental sterilization procedures to prevent cross-contamination.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant within a general dentistry or specialty practice such as pediatric dentistry or oral surgery.
• Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing patient records efficiently.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to clinical practice.
• Hands-on experience with dental imaging techniques including X-ray procedures and 3D scanning technology.
• Demonstrated ability to perform chairside assisting with proficiency in four-handed dentistry practices.
• Understanding of infection prevention management policies and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
• Experience working with pediatric patients or in specialized fields such as prosthodontics or endodontics is advantageous but not mandatory.
