Registered Dental Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical dental procedures, patient care, and dental office operations. As an RDA, you will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient interactions, and ensuring the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Your expertise in dental assisting, combined with excellent communication skills, will contribute to delivering exceptional care in a welcoming environment.

Duties

• Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all dental equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management protocols.
• Take and develop dental x-rays and medical imaging while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Perform dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
• Obtain vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient care.
• Provide patient education on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow alongside the dental receptionist team.

Experience

• Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant within a general dentistry or specialty practice, including pediatric dentistry or oral surgery settings.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and clinical procedures related to prosthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery.
• Familiarity with dental equipment including 3D scanners, digital X-ray machines, and other advanced imaging tools.
• Proficiency with patient management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes.
• Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control policies, including infection control standards specific to dental clinics.
• Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently while maintaining high-quality patient care standards.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
