Your role will involve assisting with procedures across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics utilizing your knowledge of dental terminology, medical documentation, and infection control protocols. Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up dental materials in accordance with aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
• Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, prosthodontics, and pediatric treatments.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper technique and patient safety while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
• Manage electronic medical records using Open dental to document treatment details accurately and efficiently.
• Perform vital signs assessment and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures; provide post-treatment instructions clearly.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing patient flow seamlessly.
• Maintain clinical supplies inventory, ensure proper sterilization of tools, and uphold infection control protocols to sustain a safe environment for staff and patients.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices related to dental records.
• Hands-on experience with EMR systems ;
• Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and aseptic technique to optimize procedure efficiency.
• Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and accurately; experience with Prime scan or medical imaging devices is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of infection control standards, HIPAA compliance, and sterilization procedures within a pediatric dentistry or general practice environment.
• Excellent communication skills for working effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics; knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is preferred. Embark on a rewarding career where your skills help create healthier smiles every day!
