Registered Dental Assistant

Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies
• Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency
• Take and develop dental x-rays and medical imaging, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed to protect patient health
• Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and verifying vital signs in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards
• Operate patient management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to maintain accurate dental records, process insurance claims, and facilitate smooth patient check-in/out processes
• Ensure clinical confidentiality policies are strictly adhered to when handling medical records and sensitive information
• Perform dental instrument processing including cleaning, sterilizing, and organizing tools for safe reuse in accordance with infection control standards

Experience

• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with a strong understanding of general dentistry procedures and terminology
• Hands-on experience with dental assisting techniques, including chairside assisting during various treatments such as oral surgery or endodontics
• Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing patient data efficiently
• Knowledge of dental x-ray procedures, radiographic safety protocols, and medical imaging technology
• Demonstrated ability to follow clinical confidentiality policies while maintaining high standards of infection prevention management and aseptic technique
• Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to dentistry and proficiency in dental equipment operation including 3D scanners when applicable
• Excellent communication skills suitable for collaborating with team members such as dental receptionists, hygienists, and other healthcare professionals

Pay: $25.00 - $26.00 per hour
