<Responsibilities>

• Assist the dentist during a wide range of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatric dentistry and orthodontics.
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
• Take dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners, adhering to safety protocols.
• Manage patient records efficiently using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize patient comfort and procedural efficiency.
• Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to support patient health assessments before procedures.
• Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination within the clinic.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to promote ongoing oral health.
• Ensure proper use of medical coding for billing purposes and assist with medical records management for comprehensive patient care.
• Support the use of advanced technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices to enhance diagnostic accuracy.

<Skills>

• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security.
• Experience with digital X-ray technology, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools used in modern dentistry.
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices to effectively assist young patients.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice.
• Understanding of general dentistry procedures along with specialized fields like prosthodontics and endodontics.
• Skills in taking vital signs accurately and supporting patients through their treatment journey.
• Experience working in a busy dental clinic environment with excellent organizational skills.
