Dental Assistant

Healthy Smiles Arkansas is seeking an experienced, dependable, and patient-focused Dental Assistant with a primary focus in Orthodontics to join our team.

We are a general dental practice that also provides comprehensive orthodontic treatment, including traditional braces, clear brackets, and clear aligner therapy.

The primary focus of this position will be assisting with our orthodontic patients and helping our orthodontic days run smoothly and efficiently. However, because we are a general dental practice, this team member may also assist with general dental patients and other dental procedures as needed.

We are looking for someone who enjoys orthodontics but is also comfortable being part of a versatile dental team.

Your primary responsibilities will center around orthodontic care and may include:

• Assisting with orthodontic procedures, adjustments, and appointments
• Preparing patients and treatment rooms
• Taking X-rays, photographs, impressions, and digital scans
• Assisting with traditional braces, clear brackets, and clear aligner treatment
• Changing wires, elastics, and other orthodontic components as permitted
• Providing patients and parents with instructions regarding braces, appliances, elastics, aligners, oral hygiene, and home care
• Maintaining accurate orthodontic treatment documentation
• Sterilizing instruments and following proper infection-control protocols
• Help keep orthodontic supplies and operatories organized and stocked
• Helping maintain an efficient patient flow and keeping the orthodontic schedule running on time
• Assisting with other general dentistry patients as needed.
