Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection prevention management protocols.
• Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry and prosthodontics, providing support with dental instruments and materials.
• Take dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards and radiation safety protocols.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix or Patient Management Software to ensure accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and procedural notes.
• Monitor vital signs and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient assessments while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
• Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive strategies to promote long-term oral health.
• Maintain strict adherence to healthcare infection prevention and control standards by following aseptic techniques and dental sterilization procedures for all instruments and equipment.
• Support the dental team with administrative duties such as patient management, scheduling appointments, and acting as a dental receptionist when required.

Skills

• Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry, chairside assisting, and dental instrument processing.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, oral surgery procedures, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry practices.
• Experience with EMR systems like Dentrix and Dexis for efficient medical documentation and record keeping.
• Familiarity with infection control protocols specific to healthcare settings to prevent cross-contamination.
• Ability to operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, dental sterilizers, and other clinical tools safely and effectively.
• Excellent patient management skills with a compassionate approach to patient care; capable of explaining procedures clearly while ensuring comfort throughout treatments.
• Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention standards including aseptic technique and medical imaging safety guidelines.
• Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks efficiently in a clinical environment.

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
