Bilingual Orthodontic Assistant (Spanish/English)

We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and detail-oriented Bilingual Orthodontic Assistant (Spanish/English) to join our orthodontic team. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing exceptional patient care, enjoys working with children and adults, and can effectively communicate with both English- and Spanish-speaking patients and families. This role supports the orthodontist in clinical procedures while helping create a positive and welcoming patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments according to infection control protocols.

Assist the orthodontist during orthodontic procedures and patient examinations.

Take digital X-rays, photographs, and intra-oral scans. Place and remove orthodontic appliances, wires, brackets, separators, and attachments.

Provide patient education regarding oral hygiene, braces care, aligner care, and treatment instructions.

Monitor inventory and maintain clinical supplies and equipment.

Document patient treatment notes accurately in the practice management software.

Patient Care & Communication

Welcome and escort patients to treatment areas.

Explain treatment procedures and answer patient questions in both English and Spanish.

Communicate post-treatment instructions clearly to patients and parents.

Assist in managing patient flow to ensure efficient scheduling and minimal wait times.

Support a positive, patient-centered environment that promotes excellent customer service.

Administrative Support

Assist with scheduling appointments when needed.

Verify patient information and update records.

Coordinate communication between patients, parents, doctors, and team members.

Help manage recall and follow-up appointments.

Qualifications Required

Fluency in both English and Spanish (spoken and written).

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous dental or orthodontic assisting experience preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Professional appearance and positive attitude.

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Preferred

Orthodontic assisting experience.

Radiology/X-ray certification.

Experience with digital scanners and orthodontic software.
