Join our dynamic private practice as an Oral Surgery Assistant, where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and support the smooth operation of our multi-specialty dental clinic. In this vital role, you will assist oral surgeons during surgical procedures, ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, and provide exceptional patient management. Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, surgical supplies, and sterilized equipment in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
• Assist oral doctors during complex procedures such as extractions, implant placements, and other oral surgeries by passing instruments, managing suction, and maintaining a clear operative field.
• Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper positioning and image quality while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
• Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, and documenting clinical notes accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Monitor vital signs pre- and post-procedure, ensuring patient stability throughout treatments while providing compassionate patient care and reassurance.
• Adhere to dental sterilization procedures for instruments and equipment, ensuring all tools are properly cleaned, disinfected, and stored according to infection control standards.
• Support the dental team with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments using patient management software, answering patient inquiries, and maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.

Experience

• Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with general dentistry or oral surgery is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing medical documentation and records.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry.
• Familiarity with infection prevention protocols including sterilization procedures and healthcare infection control expertise.
• Experience handling dental X-ray equipment and performing dental imaging procedures safely and accurately.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology related to oral surgery procedures and general dentistry practices.
• Excellent communication skills combined with a proactive attitude towards patient care and team collaboration.

Pay: $26.00 - $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 – 40.0 per week
