Oral Surgery Assistant

Dental assisting experience is preferred, but we will train a person with the right attitude. Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical histories.
• Assist in various oral surgery procedures.
• Utilize EMR systems (such as DSN) for procedure/medical documentation and record-keeping.
• Perform chair-side assisting duties, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
• Manage dental imaging tasks, including X-ray operations and 3D scanning.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans and dental terminology.
• Collaborate with front office administration to schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
• Stay updated on HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.

Requirements

• Preferred - experience in a dental office setting with exposure to oral surgery
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as DSN is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
• Experience in four-handed dentistry techniques is a plus.
• Strong understanding of medical documentation processes and coding practices.
• Ability to perform basic medical imaging tasks competently.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and education.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
