Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient examinations, including assessments of dental health, medical history, and oral anatomy using medical imaging and dental diagnosis tools.
• Deliver a wide range of general dentistry services such as dental cleanings, restorations, root canal therapy, extractions, prosthodontics, orthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery.
• Utilize dental terminology accurately to communicate diagnoses and treatment plans clearly to patients.
• Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
• Manage patient care from initial consultation through treatment completion while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws.
• Document all medical records thoroughly using electronic health record systems like Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix.
• Collaborate with team members on complex cases involving pediatric dentistry, dental implants, or advanced restorative procedures.
• Educate patients on oral health maintenance and post-treatment care to promote long-term wellness.
• Maintain proficiency in dental fabrication techniques and stay updated on the latest advancements in dental technology and procedures.

Skills

• Proven experience working in dental clinics with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical documentation standards.
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate charting and patient management.
• Expertise in performing diverse procedures including dental extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, orthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry.
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain complex treatments clearly and compassionately.
• Deep understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques essential for safe patient care.
• Ability to interpret medical imaging accurately for diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Knowledge of healthcare diagnosis processes combined with anatomy expertise to deliver precise treatments aligned with state healthcare regulations.
• Strong organizational skills for managing medical records efficiently while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
• Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques that optimize workflow efficiency during procedures.
• Familiarity with dental fabrication processes for crowns, bridges or implants when applicable.
