Job Overview

We are looking for a caring, motivated, and experienced Lead Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) who will be working with other assistants with 1-3 years of experience to join our team at Baek Dental in Newton Center.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership, strong work ethic and a team player. In addition to providing excellent chairside support, the Lead Assistant will help oversee the assisting team, maintain efficient clinical workflows, manage supplies and lab cases, and ensure team members follow established standards and expectations.

The practice is a small and privately owned, with one dentist. Besides general dentistry a good part of the practice is implant surgeries, bone grafts and root canals. The office is fully digital with an intraoral scanner and CBCT.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance for fillings, crowns, root canals, implants, and other procedures while anticipating the dentist's needs.
• Take digital X-rays and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, instruments, and materials.
• Follow and help enforce OSHA, CDC, sterilization, and infection control standards.
• Train, support, and mentor dental assistants.
• Hold team members accountable for following clinical protocols, office procedures, and daily responsibilities.
• Help coordinate daily assistant assignments and ensure the back office runs efficiently.
• Manage clinical supply ordering, inventory, and organization.
• Manage dental lab cases, including tracking cases, prescriptions, deliveries, and communication with laboratories.
• Identify workflow issues and work with the dentist and Practice Manager to improve efficiency.
• Help maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented clinical environment.
• Open Dental experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of dental assisting experience preferred
• Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) / appropriate Massachusetts credentials required
• CDA certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Appropriate radiology certification
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable providing coaching, feedback, and accountability to team members
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative
• Dependable, professional, and positive attitude

Pay: $33.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
