Lead Dental Assistant

Duties

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of dental assistants and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations
• Assist our expert providers during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
• Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, materials, and equipment, ensuring sterilization and infection prevention protocols are strictly followed
• Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and facilitating patient management software systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
• Take high-quality dental X-rays and 3D scans while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and safety standards
• Provide comprehensive patient care including vital signs measurement, medical documentation, and explaining procedures in clear dental terminology
• Ensure clinical confidentiality policies are followed while maintaining accurate medical records and documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems

Skills

• Extensive knowledge of dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, four handed dentistry, and aseptic technique
• Proficiency with dental equipment such as dental x ray machines, intraoral cameras, 3D scanners, and sterilization devices
• Strong understanding of infection control practices and healthcare infection prevention protocols
• Experience with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing patient records efficiently
• Ability to interpret dental terminology and medical terminology accurately for documentation and communication
• Excellent leadership skills to supervise clinical staff while fostering teamwork and high standards of patient care
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry procedures, oral surgery protocols, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry practices
