Head Dental Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Head Dental Assistant to lead our dental support team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in clinical assisting, dental office management, and patient care, with a strong understanding of dental procedures and infection control protocols. As the Head Dental Assistant, you will oversee daily clinical operations, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and support the delivery of exceptional patient experiences. Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of dental assistants and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations.
• Assist dentists during a variety of procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, Ortho(Invisalign only) and pediatric dentistry.
• Manage patient records using Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following strict infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
• Take and develop dental x-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
• Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to assess patient health status prior to procedures.
• Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and treatment plans while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
• Oversee the maintenance and operation of dental equipment, including dental sterilization procedures and medical imaging devices.
• Support patient management through effective communication, appointment scheduling, and addressing patient inquiries as a dental receptionist when needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar clinical support role within a dental clinic setting.
• Extensive knowledge of dental terminology, equipment operation, and clinical assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry.
• Familiarity with Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing medical records and documentation.
• Strong understanding of infection control standards, including dental sterilization procedures and healthcare infection prevention protocols.
• Knowledge of Invisalign, oral surgery procedures, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry practices.
• Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills for patient education and team collaboration; leadership qualities preferred for overseeing staff activities.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
