Experienced Bilingual Dental Assistant for Orthodontics (English/Spanish)

Part-Time Orthodontic Dental Assistant | Bilingual (English/Spanish) Required

New Orleans Smiles is looking for an experienced orthodontic dental assistant to join our team part time on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and select Saturdays. Because many of our patients speak Spanish, this role requires someone who can communicate comfortably with patients in both English and Spanish.

We’re looking for someone dependable and patient-focused who takes initiative, works well with a team, and helps patients feel at ease in a busy clinic. EDDA certification is strongly preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Chairside assisting during dental procedures
• Assisting with orthodontic procedures and patient flow
• Taking dental X-rays and clinical photos
• Preparing and sterilizing instruments and operatories
• Maintaining operatory flow and cleanliness
• Supporting patient care, comfort, and education
• Assisting providers with clinical procedures and daily workflow
• Accurate charting and clinical documentation
• Collaborating closely with dental, ortho, hygiene, and admin teams

Qualifications

• 1+ years of clinical dental assisting experience
• Proficient in both dental and orthodontic assisting
• Bilingual English/Spanish required
• EDDA certification preferred
• X-ray certification preferred
• Available to work Tuesdays & Thursdays - required
• Available to work select Saturdays - required
• Strong clinical knowledge, organization, and patient communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Professional, dependable, and team-oriented

Schedule:

• Part-Time
• Tuesday & Thursdays 8:20 - 5:30p
• select Saturdays 8a-3p
• 20-25 hours per week

Compensation: $15–18/hour

Pay will be based on experience, certifications, clinical knowledge, and overall qualifications.
