Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled EFDA to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will perform advanced chairside procedures, support clinical operations, and ensure exceptional patient care within a fast-paced, friendly environment. Your expertise in dental assisting, combined with your ability to manage clinical tasks efficiently, will help us deliver top-quality dental services while maintaining strict adherence to infection control and confidentiality policies. Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures.
• Perform expanded functions such as coronal polishing, placing fillings, placing sealants, take impression and deliver space maintainers, and other procedures permitted under state regulations for EFDA certification.
• Manage dental radiography including taking X-rays
• Ensure proper sterilization and processing of dental instruments following infection prevention management protocols.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation, update patient records, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
• Take vital signs, medical history updates, and assess patient comfort to provide comprehensive patient management.
• Support dental reception duties when needed by managing patient flow, scheduling appointments via patient management software, and ensuring a smooth clinic operation.

Requirements

• A genuine passion for working with children, including kids with special healthcare needs.
• Ability to think quickly and adapt in a fast-paced practice.
• Certified Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) with current licensure or certification as required by state law.
• Proven experience in general dentistry with additional expertise in pediatric dentistry a plus.
• Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and aseptic technique.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and infection control standards.
• Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to radiation safety standards.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and provide outstanding patient care.
• Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices along with clinical confidentiality policies.

Pay: $26.50 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 – 30.0 per week
