Responsibilities

• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment using aseptic techniques, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
• Assist dentists during procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
• Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, and preparing treatment rooms.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray imaging), including intraoral and extraoral images, ensuring proper safety measures are followed.
• Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients requiring medical history updates or special care.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental operatory, sterilization area, and supply inventory to ensure smooth clinic operations.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, and assisting with dental reception duties when needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting or as a dental assistant is a must.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
• Familiarity with Dental systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners and X-ray machines safely and effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and provide compassionate patient care.
• Certification in dental assisting or dental sterilization tech is a must.
