Dental Receptionist

Job Overview

Vernon Dental Associates is looking for a new team member to join their front desk operations. We are a private general practice that takes pride in establishing valued relationships with our patients, while providing high quality dental care through all facets of dentistry.

The ideal candidate is an energetic person with a happy demeanor, great organizational skills and dental experience. We are looking for someone who takes pride in themselves as well as in the team that they work with. The qualities that would fit our office include being reliable, goal and detail oriented and having basic arithmetic skills. Additionally, having effective communication and time management skills as well as a genuine compassion for our team and our patients. We are willing to train the right person. This position provides for growth and leadership opportunities.

Duties

Dental reception responsibilities includes but are not limited to, answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking in and out our patients, verifying dental insurance, responding to patient/doctor correspondences as well as all emails, billing/insurance submissions and payment postings.

Experience

• Prior experience working in a dental office or healthcare setting is preferred
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology
• Proficiency in dental practice management software such as Open Dental
• Demonstrated experience in dental billing, coding (ADA coding), insurance verification
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key typing), and familiarity with office equipment such as multi-line phones and filing systems
• Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and strong organizational abilities
• Experience handling dental administrative support tasks such as documentation review, care plan coordination, and health information management

We are looking for a dynamic, friendly and upbeat person to join our team.

Approximate hours are Mon: 8:30am-6:30pm; Tues: 9:30am-6:30pm, Wed: 8:30-5pm; Thurs: 9:30 am- 6:30 pm; Fri. 8:30-1pm. Initial training will involve an abbreviated schedule on Mon, Tues, Thursday to start.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 27.0 – 39.0 per week
