Dental Hygienist

We are looking for someone that can work Wednesdays 9am-3pm and Fridays 9am-1pm.

Responsibilities

• Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
• Conduct patient assessments by recording vital signs, medical history, and current dental concerns.
• Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and comfort.
• Educate patients on proper dental care practices, emphasizing oral hygiene, nutrition, and preventive strategies.
• Maintain accurate medical records and document treatment details in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to ensure a safe environment for all.
• Review documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
• Support patient care by providing compassionate communication and addressing questions about dental procedures or treatment plans.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless clinic operations and uphold high standards of infection control and safety.

Skills

• Proficiency with dental software platforms such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for charting and documentation management.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical procedures.
• Experience with pediatric dentistry techniques tailored to young patients’ needs.
• Skilled in chairside assisting during various dental procedures with a focus on efficiency and patient comfort.
• Ability to take high-quality dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards.
• Expertise in infection prevention management, including sterilization processes and aseptic techniques.
• Excellent client communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health care routines.
• Knowledge of medical coding for billing purposes and documentation review processes within EMR/EHR systems.
• Understanding of HIPAA compliance requirements to safeguard patient information at all times.
• Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment in busy dental office settings.

Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6.0 – 16.0 per week
