Dental Hygienist

Join our dynamic dental team as a dental hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting optimal oral health. In this position, you will utilize your expertise to perform dental cleanings and patient assessments while ensuring a comfortable, safe environment for all patients. We are looking for someone who will help us maintain the highest standards of clinical excellence. This paid position offers an opportunity to grow your skills within a supportive, fast-paced dental practice dedicated to community health. We are looking for someone full time working Monday- Wednesday from 9-5 with a one hour lunch period. We look forward to adding to our dental team!

Duties

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
• Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and evaluating oral health status
• Assist in chairside procedures with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
• Capture and interpret dental x-rays using digital imaging equipment while ensuring radiation safety protocols
• Educate patients on proper dental care practices, oral hygiene techniques, and preventive strategies tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable
• Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation of medical records and treatment plans
• Maintain infection prevention protocols by adhering to HIPAA regulations, aseptic techniques, and infection control standards to ensure patient safety at all times

Experience

• Proven experience working in a dental office or clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures
• Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate record keeping and billing processes
• Proficiency in using dental equipment including X-ray machines, sterilization tools, and other clinical instruments
• Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices aligned with OSHA guidelines
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing electronic health records efficiently
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs
• Ability to review documentation thoroughly, maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA standards, and support team collaboration

Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
