Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and evaluating oral health status to inform treatment plans.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while adhering to infection prevention protocols.
• Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient experience.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix), documenting all procedures, assessments, and patient interactions clearly and thoroughly.
• Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding medical records.
• Follow infection control standards through aseptic techniques, sterilization of dental equipment, and adherence to healthcare infection prevention guidelines.

Qualifications

• Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations.
• Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
• Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing electronic health records.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices.
• Skilled in chairside assisting, including handling dental equipment and performing X-ray procedures safely.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and patient education; ability to explain procedures clearly.
• Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control measures, including aseptic technique.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and patient care quality.

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 30.0 per week
