Gentle Dentistry is a multi-generational private dental practice serving Bergen County since 1961. We combine

advanced technology, comprehensive dentistry, minimally invasive treatment, and a highly personalized patient

experience. We’re looking for an exceptional hygienist who wants to do more than move patients through a hygiene

schedule—someone who enjoys building relationships, educating patients, using advanced technology, and being

an important part of comprehensive patient care.

What You’ll Do

 Provide exceptional preventive, periodontal, and maintenance care while developing long-term relationships

with patients.

 Use digital X-rays, your own iTero Lumina scanner, Overjet AI-assisted X-ray visualization, VELscope oral

cancer screening, digital photography, and 3D CBCT technology to support patient education and

comprehensive care.

 Help patients understand their oral health by showing and explaining what we’re seeing in a clear,

reassuring, nonjudgmental way.

 Identify periodontal, restorative, implant, orthodontic, occlusal, and aesthetic concerns that warrant doctor

evaluation and provide an excellent clinical handoff.

 Work collaboratively with doctors providing comprehensive restorative, cosmetic, implant, periodontal, laser,

and minimally invasive dentistry.

 Participate in our modern front desk-less workflow by scheduling your patient’s next recare visit chairside

and making sure every patient leaves knowing exactly what happens next.

What You’ll Need

 Current New Jersey Dental Hygienist license and required credentials.

 Excellent clinical and periodontal skills.

 A genuinely warm, patient-centered approach.

 Strong communication and patient-education skills.

 Ability to balance excellent clinical care with efficient time management.

 Interest in comprehensive dentistry rather than viewing hygiene as an isolated department.

 Comfort learning and using advanced technology.

 Strong attention to detail, documentation, teamwork, and follow-through.

Nice to Haves

 Experience with iTero or digital scanning.

 Experience with Overjet or other AI-assisted dental technology.

 VELscope, CBCT, or digital photography experience.

 Experience in periodontal, implant, restorative, cosmetic, or technology-forward dental practices.

You do not need to know every technology we use. We will train the right hygienist.

What matters is that you’re curious enough to want to learn it.
