Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting, utilizing advanced dental technologies and adhering to strict infection control protocols. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic is preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. A background in pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or general dentistry is highly valued. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering high-quality dental care.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during various procedures including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques
• Take and develop dental X-rays while following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
• Manage patient records using EMR system Denticon ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Record vital signs and medical history information for patients, including pediatrics when applicable
• Provide patient education on dental procedures, oral hygiene, and post-treatment care
• Operate medical imaging equipment including 3D scanners when required
• Maintain a thorough understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding for accurate documentation
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical records when needed
• Ensure the clinic environment adheres to infection control standards and maintains a sterile setting at all times

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic role; experience with dental assisting in pediatric or general dentistry preferred
• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical documentation and coding standards
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for patient confidentiality
• Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety protocols
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
• Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients of all ages about treatments and oral health care
• Certification or training in chairside assisting; additional certifications in radiography or pediatric dentistry are advantageous
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism
