Dental Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and sterile environment.

Duties

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
• Perform chairside assisting tasks, including suctioning, instrument handling, and patient positioning.
• Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Manage patient records accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Schedule appointments and manage the flow of patients in the office efficiently.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Utilize dental software such as Open Dental for managing medical records and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred, with knowledge of general dentistry practices.
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus, as well as experience with infection control measures.
• Proficient in using dental software systems like Open Dental is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols in a dental setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• A commitment to continuous learning and professional development within the field of dental assisting.
