Job Summary

Duties

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
• Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary dental instruments, materials, and equipment while adhering to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
• Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations.
• Perform dental instrument processing including sterilization procedures to uphold the highest standards of infection control.
• Provide chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.
• Collect vital signs and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care and ensure clinical confidentiality policies are followed.
• Support the dental receptionist by managing patient flow, scheduling appointments via patient management software, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.
• Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to foster understanding and compliance.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental equipment, instruments, and clinical procedures.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with patient management software is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control expertise.
• Knowledge of dental terminology across various specialties including pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry.
• Ability to accurately take dental X-rays (including dental X-ray techniques) and operate medical imaging devices like 3D scanners.
• Excellent communication skills for effective patient care and collaboration within a team environment.
• Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry as well as medical terminology for accurate documentation.
• Certification in dental assisting or relevant healthcare qualifications is preferred; ongoing professional development is encouraged.
• Commitment to maintaining clinical confidentiality policies while providing compassionate patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
