Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during patient procedures, including bracket placement, adjustments, and appliance management using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols.
• Take dental X-ray images, including 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and adherence to dental x-ray safety standards.
• Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Ortho2 Edge, maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA policies.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, appliance care, and post-treatment instructions to promote optimal oral health outcomes.
• Maintain clinical cleanliness by following dental sterilization procedures and infection control policies to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures.
• Experience with dental instrument processing, sterilization techniques, and infection prevention management.
• Skilled in chairside assisting for orthodontic treatments.
• Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools confidently.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry cases.
• Knowledge of healthcare infection control standards and aseptic techniques necessary for maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.

Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour
