Duties

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry treatments
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all dental equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection prevention management protocols
• Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while adhering to radiation safety standards
• Manage patient records accurately using patient management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality
• Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow and patient comfort
• Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive practices tailored to pediatric dentistry needs
• Maintain clinical cleanliness by following strict dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to prevent infection transmission

Skills

• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for medical documentation and record keeping
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental procedures
• Experience with dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection control practices aligned with healthcare infection prevention standards
• Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and 3D scanners confidently
• Excellent patient management skills with a focus on providing compassionate care for pediatric patients and managing diverse patient needs
• Familiarity with dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling administrative tasks efficiently
• Knowledge of clinical confidentiality policies in accordance with HIPAA regulations and general healthcare privacy standards
