Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Manage dental imaging procedures such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and adherence to infection control protocols.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Uphold strict infection control standards using aseptic techniques and adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.

Requirements

• Valid certification as a Dental Hygienist from an accredited program with current licensure in the state of practice.
• Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments with a strong understanding of dental terminology and anatomy knowledge.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft review and medical coding purposes.
• Knowledge of infection control practices, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for safe clinical operations.
• Ability to perform patient care tasks including taking vital signs, chairside assisting, and managing pediatric patients with patience and professionalism.
• Strong communication skills to explain treatment procedures clearly and provide excellent patient care in a friendly manner.
