Certified Dental Assistant

Duties

• Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all dental tools are properly processed according to infection prevention management protocols
• Take high-quality dental x-rays and utilize medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners to support accurate diagnoses
• Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
• Monitor vital signs and collect medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care
• Provide excellent patient management by explaining procedures, answering questions, and maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor as a dental receptionist when needed
• Adhere to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment in accordance with healthcare infection prevention and control standards

Skills

• Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or other patient management software systems
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
• Experience with dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and 3D scanners
• Skilled in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection control practices
• Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and comfort
• Knowledge of oral surgery procedures, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry specialties is highly desirable
• Excellent communication skills to effectively manage patient care and collaborate with team members

Pay: $28,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
